Wrecked by Priscilla Review

What they say: A New Adult Romance Novel by USA Today Bestselling Author Priscilla West

“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”
Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.
The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.
Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”
Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “The Hammer.”
Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.
Lorrie knows that Hunter is exactly the type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.
As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

What I say: Lorrie has had a horrible couple of years but has returned to Uni to rebuild her life and finish her degree. Things don't go exactly to plan but she meets hottie cage fighter Hunter.

Hunter is confident, strong and mysterious. He has a huge soft spot for Lorrie although at times I couldn't understand why. I REALLY wanted Hunter to explain himself on several occasions; when will guys in these types of books learn lying by omission is still lying?!

Oh the drama!! Lorrie reminded me a lot of Rocked Under's Emma in that she's adamant she doesn't want to date the male lead, which in Wrecked is Hunter, even though she clearly does. Lorrie's indecision and all the back and forward is both stressful and captivating in equal measures!

There were some lighthearted moments and I do like a guy manly enough to look after his kittens (get your minds out of the gutter, no naughty jokes here). There are some really sweet moments mixed in with the dramatic and really naughty ones.

Those of you who like the badass alpha type a la Travis from Beautiful Disaster and Remy from the Real series, or even the angst and drama of Rocked Under will love WreckedAt times the fighter elements were a bit too similar to Beautiful Disaster and Real, but Hunter's problems are very different from Travis's and Remy's. The book does end on a cliffy so be warned (I may have shouted when I got to the end)!
